Meet Our Product Trainers – Victoria

One of our first Baby Expos was in Melbourne, so of course it holds a very special place in our heart. It is also where we came across one of our very first Babes in Arms demonstrators.  Today we introduce you to Suzanne, Mother to Cody (stepson) 10, Malakai 3 and Indigo 1.

What is your preferred ERGObaby position?
I love the Back Carry now that my kids are older.  There is nothing better than a hands free piggy back.  It is also great for around the house when you are trying to get dinner prepared because they don’t get between you and whatever you’re cooking :) I loved the front carry when my babies were little.  The closeness and security I could provide for them, especially when I was out and about, in the ERGO couldn’t be matched by anything

Funniest/Most unique/most enjoyable experience wearing your ERGO?
Last year my husband and I went to the Royal Melbourne Show with Malakai and Indigo.  We brought along 2 ERGO’s, a small backpack with lunch and that’s it.  We stashed everything in a locker and enjoyed the sites.  When the kids started to get tired, out came the ERGO’s.  It was wonderful that we weren’t restricted to areas that we could move around in as some of the enclosures didn’t allow prams.  Later in the afternoon Malakai and Indigo both fell asleep and we strolled around the show hand in hand with the babes on our backs.  It was so liberating being able to walk around with no baggage.  We gained some lifelong memories with our kids and then followed it with some precious mummy and daddy time :-)

What you think you bring to the role of a Babes in Arms demonstrator?
I am so looking forward to educating fellow parents and sales staff about all the benefits of the ERGO along with babywearing in general. You don’t have to be a full time babywearer or a follower of attachment parenting to enjoy the benefits of carrying your baby. Benefits include bonding, safety, cost savings etc.  These benefits can be felt by not only mums, but dads, relatives and other caregivers alike.

Meet Our Product Trainers – Queensland

Today, an overcast autumn day, had me dreaming of warm sunshine and lazy days by the pool. As such, I thought it would be only appropriate to introduce you to our Queensland based Product Trainer, Heatherbell.

Heatherbell is the proud mother of 12 month old Saffron, and has had over 365 days of Babywearing experience! We asked her a range of questions to provide you with some insight into her experiences with Babywearing.

What is your preferred ERGO position?
The Back Carry! I wore Saffron for every single nap she took for the first 4 months and so when she was developmentally ready to transfer to the back, I felt liberated! Saffi’s in the back carry while I do food shopping and it’s great for travelling (especially through the airport!).

What do you most enjoy about Babywearing?
I love the closeness, the warmth and the presence of a baby against my skin. Nothing compares to having a content and loved up face staring up at you.

What you think you bring to the role of a  Babes in Arms Product Trainer?
I am so excited. I love babywearing and I am passionate about the benefits for wearers and the babies! So for me to talk about the ERGO, which has been the most used, most loved, most lifesaving and most beneficial parenting product for our family  well, it’s just perfect for me!

Funniest/Most unique/most enjoyable experience wearing your ERGO?
I run a produce co-op and each fortnight since Saffi was born, I head down to the produce markets, buying, lifting and moving heavy produce. The ONLY way I have been able to achieve this has been with the ERGO. There is no way I could get a pram through the crowds and boxes and there’s no way I could move goods to our car without Saffron being safe on my back. The thing that has amazed me most has been the guys excited to see her on my back – there’s not a market day that goes by without one of the guys commenting on the fact that there’s a cute baby on my back.

Meet Our Product Trainers – South Australia

Today we introduce you to our South Australian Product Trainer, Helen.  Helen is a seasoned Babywearing mother of Seven Little Australians: Steph 26, Zak 19, Jazz, 17, Julz 12, Zsa Zsa 8, Stella 5 &  Zen 3.

We sat down with her recently and asked her a few questions about babywearing and her experiences.

Currently, what is your preferred ERGO position?

Always love front carrying the  best.

What do you most enjoy about Babywearing?
Having my baby close to me, those cuddles are just the most delightful thing!  and being  able to use both my hands to multi-task!

What you think you bring to the role of a  Babes in Arms Product Trainer?
Lots of experience as a mother of seven little Australians,  a baby products consumer myself for the past 27 years and a Doula & Childbirth Educator for the past 13 years.  I can certainly say I have owned and loved many baby carriers. People always ask my opinion and I often demonstrate my many carriers to many parents and parents to be!  I have seen all kinds of structures and I  am fortunate to have been able to have little ones who benefited from the latest models available as back in 1983 there wasn’t as much choice as we have now. J

Funniest/Most unique/most enjoyable experience wearing your ERGO?
Funniest and unique is when my little guy Zen was 2.5 years old.  He  tried to jump out while he was on my back (of course he couldn’t). The most enjoyable is the first year when it’s so easy to breastfeed and cuddle a little one to sleep in the ERGO!

Anything else you would like to add?
If you are only going to buy one carrier, make sure it’s an ERGObaby for versatility, durability and adjustability from newborn until preschool (well my 5yo is tiny and she still gets into my carriers for cuddles and holds).
