We recently took the ERGObaby carrier overseas with us for 3 weeks (to Vietnam and Cambodia) as it was the only means of transporting Stella about in and it was fabulous. At 15 months, Stella is 10kg but I was very comfy with her in this, and she was too, half the time she was asleep! Which is perfect as then I could enjoy the things we were looking at like the Angkor Wat temples and hiking around the ethnic minority mountain villages near Sapa. I preferred to wear Stella on my front, but for longer walks, on the back is better. My longest walk was a pretty continuous 5 hour hike gradual uphill walk – I was exhausted but physically comfortable. The other advantage is that because there is no steel frame in the Ergo, it can be tucked under a seat or table when you’re not actually wearing it, so its not a pain to have around when you’re not using it and out and about.
Halong Bay, Vietnam.

Although I have opted to use the Babybjorn Air with our child, I am more curious about your trip to Vietnam with you child. We are expecting in a couple of months and would like to travel Vietnam while on my mat leave. I have been before (1.5 months). This time I would like to spend a week in the north (Hoian, Halong Bay) and 3 weeks in Hoiann, 1 week around Saigon. Any advise? How was taking the boat cruise in Halong with the child? Our boat cruise was bascially a party the whole time last time I went. This picture is priceless, congrats on getting out there!
