On the Campaign Trail

My now 8 month old daughter Millie and I have been hitting the political rally circuit in support of home birth in Australia and wherever we go she is always in her trusty ERGObaby Carrier. On my back, on my front and on my hip,we wouldn’t travel any other way. From Brisbane to Canberra in September for “The Mother of all Rallies”, Millie was quiet and happy in the Ergo continuously from 9am when we landed until 10.30pm when we finally got home. A long day, but she was comfortable and so was I. We breastfed, we cuddled and we had an amazing day standing up for our rights to birth where we went. November, back on the campaign trail again outside KRudd’s office here in Brisbane, Millie again travelled in her trusty Ergo blaring her political message on the front. And with the Ergo backpack accessory we have everything we need for a day or more out on the go, not only for Millie, but for me and her two brothers and Daddy too.

This is my favourite…what a great way to promote responsive/needs based parenting at the same time as a woman’s right to choose where & with whom she brings a baby into the world.

    Good on you ladies!!

This my fav – Love that baby is right there with Mama! A great way of ensuring that baby’s needs are met, while still letting Mama do what she needs to do. And brings a new take to the politicians kissing babies cliche!

I love this story, getting babywearing out there being seen as well as fighting for women’s rights to birth how they choose, well done!
